NORWESCAP is the statewide sponsor for Amachi-Break the Cycle. NORWESCAP's mission is dedicated to Fighting Poverty, Creating Opportunities, and Changing Lives. NORWESCAP is a private, non-profit corporation originally established in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act. NORWESCAP currently serves the low-income population of Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Warren Counties. The Agency has a 25 member Board of Trustees and employs approximately 230 persons dedicated to housing development, energy conservation, child care, Head Start, volunteerism, nutrition, child care referral, alcohol counseling, outreach, information & referral, food bank, subcontracted services, case management, economic development, and utility assistance programs.
